School Bus Stops Just Short of Smashing into Brooklyn House

NEW YORK CITY - A school bus carrying a group of children jumped the curb, drove over a front yard, and came within inches of smashing through the front of a house in the Midwood section of Brooklyn Tuesday, according to authorities and witnesses.

First repsonders evacuated the bus and treated four children for minor injuries, the FDNY said.

Crews were examining the scene for a possible gas leak.

Authorities did not immediately say why the bus careened out of control.
