June 9, 2009 -- Simon Pegg, last seen on the big screen in “Star Trek” as “Scotty”, has joined another all star cast in ICE AGE: DAWN OF THE DINOSAURS”. Seems as if he has another winner on his hands. Pegg looms large as the voice of “Buck”, the swashbuckling, slightly crazed one-eyed weasel who accidentally fell into the world below the ice. “Oh, he’s a bit cheeky”, he told me, “and ah also a bit of a you know - Marlon Brando in ‘Apocalypse Now”’ in that he’s sort of been sent crazy by his own isolation”.
I mentioned that the filmmakers wanted a voice that stood out from their previously established characters and that he got the nod. “I’m flattered”, he blustered, “but at the same time you’ve got to bring your A-Game in order to even be heard in the film, you know”. We hear you Simon, loud and clear. And you did bring your A-Game.
