Social networking online for jobs is a vital part of the hunt for new employment. But don't give up on old-fashioned in-person networking. That could be the difference between finding a job lead and staying at home another month, surfing job postings with no luck.

Many job-seekers are going to so-called job clubs: meet-ups in causal settings such as restaurants and lounges to exchange business cards, compare resumes, commiserate, and share ideas and tips.
