MYFOXNY.COM - New York City Police Commissioner Raymond Kelly came to Good Day New York to discuss recent news involving the NYPD.

TERROR INVESTIGATION/NAJIBULLAH ZAZI

"This is a success story," Kelly said, in reference to the foiled plot of an attack on the New York City subways.

Najibullah Zazi admitted in federal court that he planned to carry out a plot to blow up the New York City subway system. Good Day NY's Greg Kelly, the commissioner's son, asked if people should avoid the subways.

"We do more than any other transit system in the world," Commissioner Kelly said. "The subway system is the life blood of this city… even when the department has been going down in head count we have maintained a high level."

Zazi often used the word "we" when entering his guilty plea on Monday. Kelly was asked who the admitted bomb plotter was referring to.

"To be continued… this case is ongoing... the investigation is going forward," Commissioner Kelly said.

As far as the possibility officials acted too early or too late, Kelly said: "We don't know what we don't know… the case ended successfully... this investigation continues... this is a success story, NYPD, FBI, Terrorism Task Force."

Zazi was very polite in court, according to reports. Kelly was asked if there was anything to read into about Zazi's demeanor.

"The U.S Attorney in the Eastern District did a very good job exerting pressure," Kelly said. "His mother stood the chance of being arrested… he realized if he didn't cooperate his family would be significantly impacted."

BROOKLYN COPS ON TRIAL

A jury acquitted three cops in the case of a Brooklyn man, Michael Mineo, who claimed that officers assaulted him.

"There are some administrative issues that need to be examined for the time being," Kelly said.

SHORTENING NYC PARADES

"It's going to be a little short," he said. "We were forced to do it… we were levied with the proposition to cut millions of dollars… we are under severe budget constraints."
