LOSS OF HORMONES IS WHAT AGES US
- Hormones are: thyroid, estrogen, progesterone, testosterone, etc.
- Loss of hormones symptoms: depression, anxiety, palpitations, weight gain, hair loss, always cold, constipation, insomnia, cracked nails, loss of eyebrow, etc.
WHAT ARE BIOIDENTICALS?
- Bioidentical hormones are pharmaceutical hormones manufactured to be molecularly identical to our own hormones. They are safer than synthetics.
- A hormone that mimics what your body makes: estrogeron, testosterone, progesterone, thyroid, etc.
- It is made by a pharmaceutical co. It has to be prescription.
- It used to be in a pill only, but now it comes in pills, creams and patches.
- At all ages we need hormone balance to function optimally
- Oral estrogen is unhealthy because it is toxic to the liver.
- Transdermal creams deliver hormones in pulses--depends how often you take them-once, twice, three times a day, mimicking normal hormone production by our body.
- Patches deliver continuous low dose hormones usually estrogen in Europe testosterone as well. They are good if you make no hormones so you get a basic level all the time.
LOW THYROID
- January is Thyroid Awareness Month.
- Historically, the only way to diagnose thyroid was a blood test. No longer true.
- Key to diagnosis now is to take your own temperature every morning. If temp reads below 98.6, you may have low thyroid.
