MYFOXNY.COM - One of the fastest animals on the planet needs to find a home, fast.

The struggling economy has forced greyhound racing tracks to close.

Hundreds of greyhounds are up for adoption in the northeast alone.

NY Money Authority Reporter Lisa Murphy adopted a greyhound. She named the dog, 'Phoenix.'
