MYFOXNY.COM - An attempt to legalize same-sex marriages in New York State failed on Wednesday, but Democratic Senate Majority Leader Pedro Espada Jr. says the legislator held a "historic debate."
Sen. Espada Jr. spoke with Good Day NY on Thursday.
"We put this (same sex marriage bill) to a vote.. the challenge is continuing the march for equal rights... we have to do a batter job."
When asked about reports of an investigation by the Attorney General of Espada's health-care charity, the State Senator said there is no investigation.
"No law enforcement authority has ever contacted me ... we've had requests for documents," said Espada.
