TOO MUCH TV AT DAYCARE: A new study shows pre-schoolers spend as many as two hours a day watching TV at daycare. That's on top of the two to three hours many spend watching at home. Since most kids that age are only awake 12-hours, that's about a third of their day. TV is not always a bad idea but experts have found that anytime a TV is on children speak less and adults interact with them less frequently.
FACEBOOK LOST HEALTH INSURANCE: Be careful what you post on Facebook. Get this-- a Canadian woman says she lost her insurance benefits because of pictures she posted. According to the Associated Press, she was on long-term sick leave for depression but she says her insurance agent found photos of her on Facebook where she appeared to be having fun. They stopped her monthly payments.
SUSAN G. KOMEN GALA: A quick shout out to all our
friends at the Susan G. Komen Foundation! The North Jersey
affiliate just had its annual ‘pink tie’ gala on
Saturday night to raise money for breast cancer research. This year
it was a wild west country theme. I'm told they raised more than
$600,000 through donations an auction and sponsorships.
