MYFOXNY.COM - 11-year-old Kyle Orent has raised more than $125,000 for Canine Companions for Independence. It serves kids and adults with cerebral palsy. The dogs learn how to help the people with disabilities become more independent.

The Hearts and Heroes Gala will be held Wednesday night at 6 p.m. at Yankee Stadium. Linda Schmidt is one of the hosts for the annual fundraiser.
