MYFOXNY.COM - Medical headlines for Tuesday, October 27.

Text of Dr. Sapna Parikh's report:

SWINE FLU VACCINATIONS IN SCHOOL: The city will start giving swine flu vaccinations in city schools tomorrow. The program will begin with 125-small public elementary schools. It will then expand to larger elementary schools next week. The city plans to open weekend clinics to offer the vaccine to middle and high school students in November. Parents must sign a waiver in order for students to qualify for the free vaccine.

HALLOWEEN CANDY WORRIES: Halloween is just around the corner and parents need to be more concerned about cars than about kids eating too much candy. According to this new report by Safe Kids USA, kids are more than twice as likely to be killed by a car while walking on Halloween night than any other night of the year. The reason according to these researchers-- there are more kids walking around, sometimes unsupervised, masks make it hard for kids to see cars and dark costumes make it hard for drivers to see the kids.

HULA HOOPING: How is this for a hip way to exercise-- hula hooping is making a comeback. Apparently its what the celebrities are all doing—Beyonce, Marisa Tomei and even Michelle Obama. Last week, the First Lady showed off her skills at a White House wellness event. Hula hoops are good for toning maybe a little cardio.
