MYFOXNY.COM - Emma Kenney's short horror film "The New Girl in Town" is playing at the New Jersey International Film Festival -- a laudable achievement for any writer and director. But Emma is just 9 years old.

The Fanwood, N.J., resident says she wanted to make her 4-minute flick as scary as possible, but concedes it turned out to be pretty funny. She and her family were shocked that it was selected for the festival, which is held at Rutgers University in New Brunswick.
Emma says she was inspired by the now-defunct TV show "Sabrina the Teenage Witch." She shot the film over four days. Post-production took about a month. The film stars Emma's friends.
SYNOPSIS: Kelly and Julia invite over a new girl, Francesca, only to find out that she is a vampire. Can she be fended off by garlic potato chips? And what about Angie, the girl-werewolf: Should she be invited over for a sleepover or would that be bad judgment in friends?
