MYFOXNY.COM - After years at Bryant Park, Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week is underway at Lincoln Center. The semi-annual fashion events draw more than 230,000 attendees every year, generating more than $770 million in economic activity in New York City, according to officials.

The show had been bursting at the seams in Bryant Park because it had gotten so complex, elaborate, and well-attended. Lincoln Center features much more room for the production.

"Fashion Week as we all know is the hub of new talent and creativity and Lincoln Center is an establishment of arts and culture and we thought by bringing these two together we'd create an incredible synergy," said Mayor Mike Bloomberg.

The first of 90 fashions shows kicks off Thursday, September 9, 2010.
