Fans who registered online for tickets to Tuesday's memorial service for Michael Jackson are learning if they're among the lucky few to win a spot at the Staples Center in Los Angeles.
Fox's Josh Einiger has more (video, left).
Fans are finding out by e-mail whether they won an online lottery for tickets to attend Tuesday's public memorial service for him in Los Angeles.
Fewer than 9,000 people will be getting two tickets apiece to see the service at the Staples Center. But more than 1.6 million people entered the online drawing. That makes the odds of getting tickets about 1 in 183.
An assistant police chief is expecting big crowds in downtown L.A. Tuesday despite pleas for people who don't have tickets to stay away. Police plan to shut down streets for blocks around the Staples Center and will be trying to keep tens of thousands of ticketless fans away from the area. They're urging people to stay home and watch it on television.
The chief also says the LAPD is working with the Jackson family on a "private family function" at Forest Lawn cemetery in the Hollywood Hills. No details of that are being made public.
