Ryan was named weekend weather anchor for My9 News in April 2008.
She joins My9 from WXYZ, the ABC affiliate in Detroit where she also served as weekend meteorologist. Previously, she was the weekday morning meteorologist at WSAV in Savannah, Georgia. While there she covered Hurricane Floyd and took part in the largest peacetime evacuation in U.S. history. While staying at the Emergency Management Shelter for 36 hours, she reported on key safety updates and the tracked the storm’s path. Ryan began her career as a weekend meteorologist at WXVT in Greenville, Mississippi.
A native of South Florida, Ryan received her Bachelor’s degree in Telecommunication from the University of Florida and earned a Master’s degree in Geoscience with a concentration in Broadcast Meteorology from Mississippi State University. Ryan is a member of the American Meteorological Society and has earned the AMS seal of approval.
