Companies Offering DTV Services

MYFOXNY.COM - The Federal Communications Commission has contracted with dozens of companies to provide free, expert in-home DTV converter box installation assistance.

The transition to digital television happens on June 12.

The FCC says it is especially focused on reaching 'at risk' households: low income consumers, minority communities, non-English speaking consumers, senior citizens, consumers living in rural areas or on tribal lands and consumers with disabilities.

According to the FCC, nealry 3.3 million households are not prepared for the switch.
