Interactive Map for Long Islanders Debuts

An interactive map of Long Island packed with census, transportation and land-use data was unveiled on Wednesday.
Nonprofit data group Long Island Index and the CUNY Mapping Service created it.
It's similar to Google but a lot more hyperlocal. You can check out profiles of villages and hamlets, look at sewer district boundaries and land use.
